December is the time when moose get back together in their wintering areas. At the early stage of this time, you can frequently catch bull moose sparring to establish hierarchy. Older bulls typically start to shed their antlers. The opportunity to find an antler and photograph moose in their elements on snow is something that is a photographer’s dream.
Your guide will be with you during each day as you go into the bush in pursuit of great photos. Weather permitting an aircraft spotter will work with your guide to get you into range of one of these magnificent animals. Means of travel is primarily done by snowmobile and snowshoes are required.
During this time, most bulls will still be carrying antlers. Larger older bulls will be dropping.
January is the time when shed antlers may be found. Be ready to photograph bulls sometimes with one antler and be ready for your chance to find an antler. Means of travel is primarily done by snowmobile and snowshoes are required.
